Mel Hauschildt just won her second Ironman 70.3 World Championship. For a former steeplechaser – her steeple stories were hilarious! – who ended up taking a gold at the 2000 Goodwill Games and a silver at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, this triathlete-come-lately certainly is an unbelievable talent. She started cycling to help recover from one of her 13 running-induced stress fractures. Next up was swim training, and in 2011 she won her first Ironman 70.3 World Championship title.
